Job Goal: To support goals and objectives of the Secondary Education department and to assist in the goal of achieving improved teaching and learning for all students and/or identified student subgroups.

Performance Responsibilities:
Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:
1. Functions as a District liaison to Secondary Education in order to provide assistance and coordinate deployment of appropriate support and intervention.
2. Assists with the implementation of the District’s Strategic Plan.
3. Attends in-service sessions to keep abreast of updated strategies in learning and training.
4. Supports the site by providing technical assistance and staff development.
5. Organizes, plans, and implements regular support staff meetings to provide assistance, keep the school site informed of the latest issues facing site programs, and shares ideas and successful teaching strategies.
6. Works in collaboration with Elementary Education, Targeted Student Achievement, English Learners, Special Education, Professional Development, and Student Services to coordinate and provide staff development as related to the core and intervention program curriculum.
7. Assists in scheduling school site personnel to attend appropriate training sessions.
8. Provides technical assistance to the school site, including program assessment, external/internal reviews, and appropriate strategies for the District Master Plan.
9. Participates in WASC, PQR, and CPM training and reviews as appropriate.
10. Participates in professional growth activities appropriate to assigning responsibilities to remain up-to-date regarding at risk learners and educational issues.
11. Assists schools with PLC, Leadership team, SSC as needed and informs the school of EIA/LEP guidelines to insure compliance.
12. Works with students and Professional Learning Communities on a regular basis to model effective strategies.
13. Other duties as assigned.

Terms of Employment: 212 day work year, 8 hours a day and 5% stipend. Teacher salary determined by placement on the San Bernardino City Unified School District Daily Rate Schedule for Certificated Personnel.

Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement on Employee Evaluation Procedures (Article XVI).

The San Bernardino City Unified School District is accepting applications for the position of Head Varsity Wrestling Coach at Pacific High School.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. A minimum of two years successful experience as a wrestling coach. One of these years must be at the varsity level.
2. Proven ability to organize and lead adults and students.

JOB SUMMARY:
? Implements all athletic policies as approve by the SBCUSD Board of Education.
? Conforms, to all SAL and CIF regulations; interprets regulations to staff.
? Works to increase student/athlete participation.
? Recruits, develops and evaluates coaching staff in conjunction with the vice principal for athletics and the athletic director.
? Understands the administrative chain of command and refers all program requests through the proper channels.
? Works collegially with other program head coaches, activity sponsors and school personnel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develops and organizes a structured wrestling practice program.
2. Acts as a liaison to inform the staff, administration, general public, and local news media about the school’s wrestling program.
3. Develops and administers a continuous off-season conditioning and recruitment program.
4. Conducts and analyzes scouting reports
5. Evaluates assistant coaches and athletes and aids students in securing scholarship assistance.
6. Assists with maintenance and inventory of all equipment and supplies.
7. Plans and develops game responsibilities.
8. Directs the school’s overall wrestling program.
9. Assists the athletic director in developing and administering the wrestling budget and scheduling.
10. Attends coaching clinics and conferences to maintain professional growth.
11. Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as assigned by administration.
12. Designs and implements a program to ensure academic eligibility.
13. Develops and maintains a Wrestling Booster Club and/or ASB fundraising account.
14. Has a working knowledge of MaxPreps website and keep it up to date.

SALARY:

The wrestling stipend is $2,967.00 payable at the end of the season of sport.
